Vica Esther Turner

Viva Esther Turner, age 96, of Pickerington, OH passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022, surrounded by family. Born April 5, 1926, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Chester and Lamotta (Embery) Montgomery. Viva was passionate and gifted in her needlework specializing in sewing. She was a devoted God loving woman and attended the Church of Christ. Viva enjoyed watching Gameshows, the Cincinnati Reds, gardening, cooking, teaching the grandchildren how to yo-yo and purple was her favorite color. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband David Turner, siblings Carl, Ruth, Alice and Rose, and nephew Dana Zartman. She is survived by her children, Kent (Susan) Turner, Gary (Nancy) Turner, Wayne (Karen) Turner, Pam Lightle, Melody "Mel" (Bill) Koziatek, and Melinda "Mindy" Kohn; 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Family and friends may visit Friday, June 3, from 9-11AM at the DWAYNE R SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, OH 43110. A funeral service will begin after the calling hours at 11AM with a burial at Union Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Meals on Wheels foundation in memory of Viva.
